This week, I am in intensive rehearsals for Improbable Stage's upcoming show, Rough Draft.
Rough Draft, a powerful and compelling theatre piece utilizing movement as its primary vocabulary, tells the story of an established novelist for whom a tragic event serves as a catalyst for self examination. Having believed his life was a well written book, he must question and redefine for himself what it means to be “successful” and discover if he possesses the courage to begin anew, another “rough draft.”
The company has been developing this original, devised piece for about 2 years now, and for the past year, I have had the distinct pleasure of watcing the show grown and change as I understudy the role of Pragmatism. Now, in a fun plot twist, I will OFFICIALLY be going on as Idealism on Wednesday, 9/30 and Thursday, 10/1 during the last week of our run. I am incredibly excited about the show and this new challenge, and I hope all of you will be there to join me as I take the stage for the first time as a full Improbable Stage company member!
